Evolutionary biologist and bioinformatician. B.Sc. in Microbiology, post graduate diploma in Bioinformatics, M.Sc. in Biology (Bioinformatics).
SERC and FRQNT fellow, I am presently a Ph.D. student in computer science at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). With a background on pharmacy, I started one-year post-graduate diploma in bioinformatics at UQAM. After my graduation, I worked as research assistant at the bioinformatics laboratory of UQAM with Prof. Abdoulaye Diallo group for two years before pursuing my master’s degree in computer science
Also know as Julie, she holds double masters in biochemistry and computer science from McGill and UQAM, respectively. As a NSERC and FRQNT PGS fellow, she is currently pursuing her PhD degree in computer science in Professor Diallo's laboratory. Her research interest is to efficiently and functional relevantly classify biological molecules that are collected from high throughput data generators, including NGS transcriptomic libraries and protein mass spectra.
Hayda Almeida is a PhD candidate in the Département d’informatique at UQAM, under the supervision of Dr. Abdoulaye Baniré Diallo and Dr. Marie-Jean Meurs, and advised by Dr. Adrian Tsang, director of the Centre for Structural and Functional Genomics at Concordia University. She holds the NSERC Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship, and was awarded the FRQNT Doctoral research scholarship.
